The Franconia Rink Project
The Franconia Rink Project is dedicated to creating a beautiful, sustainable, refrigerated community ice rink—a place that brings people together through skating, play, and shared experiences. We are actively seeking a permanent home in Franconia or nearby. Reliable ice would give children more opportunities to get outdoors, offer families and neighbors a welcoming place to gather, and bring visitors to local businesses. A suitable site could also create future opportunities for pickleball, farmers markets, concerts, and other recreation beyond winter. Mission
Our mission is to create and support a sustainable refrigerated community rink that brings people together, gives children and families a place to play, and strengthens the social, recreational, and economic vitality of Franconia. We envision a welcoming, affordable place for people of all ages to enjoy skating, hockey, and shared experiences.
Vision
Imagine a winter afternoon in Franconia: children head to the rink after school, friends meet at the boards, and a family stops in for a few laps. Refrigerated ice would help us plan a more dependable season of skating, lessons, hockey, and community events. Beyond winter, a permanent site could offer new possibilities for recreation and gathering. The location and final design are still being developed. The vision is a lasting community resource, built with care and operated thoughtfully.
